Kusama Yayoi ( born in 1929, Japan ) is probably one of the most influential figure in the forming or world ' s contemporary art trend since 1960s. With astonishing strength and passions, she ' s still erupting her limitless creativity in virtually all fields of art, performance art, installation art, drawing and engraving. Immigrated to Us in 1957 alone,She became outstanding figure in American art society with monochrome drawings using infinite mesh structure. She also showed her wacky characters with interesting careers of being into custody by her shocking performance in open street, spraying dyes to naked models, as her bitter protest to bloody Vietnam war.

Having shown her inner imagination by infinite repetition of bubble dots and nets, she evolved into installation artist expanding her meshes beyond canvas, seemed to cover whole world with her mesh. Her famous pumpkin works widely lie from the series endless dots to small sculpture of shoes.

Actively worked during her residence in New York from 1957 to 1972, her splendid works started to get notice from the world in 80s. In 1989, she held her private exhibition in Contemporary Art Center in New York, as a celebration of opening. And she also participated in Venice Viennale as the first Japanese invitational artist. In 98, MoMA held her retrospective exhibition in honor of her contribution.

Currently work in Kusama studio in Tokyo, she has published 20 books of novels and poems.
